THE second regatta of the Tamar Winter League took place Saturday, with Tamar and Tavy Gig Club entering a full roster of crews – men’s, women’s, juniors and veterans.

It was a frosty but calm and beautiful day on the River Tamar at Cotehele and a great start to the year for the club with ladies A winning the first race and the men’s A and B both placing third. A good effort was put in by every crew member and everyone enjoyed some great racing as well as some much-needed sunshine.

These are exciting times for the club, with confirmed crews for the Three Rivers Race in March and the World Pilot Gig Championships in May and training being stepped up over the coming spring season.
