THE tenth race of Tavistock Athletic Club's Grand Prix event took place with the Treggy in Launceston — a fast but challenging seven-miler and includes a serious hill on it's route around the lanes of Tregadillett.
Thirteen TAC competed, three playing their 'joker' to double their race day points.
Jim Cole put in another brilliant performance, finishing in third place in 38 minutes 59 seconds, less than a minute behind the two race leaders who were neck and neck to the finish line.
Jason Shipton was next back while David Twine and Paul Marshall both achieved excellent times, recording county standard age-graded performances.
Graham De Val played his Grand Prix joker which took him into fourth place in the competition.
Trevor Williams won his MV70 age category, while Kate Rogers and Sheila Houghton both came third in their respective groups. Sue Rowe played her joker and climbed eight places and Rachel Waldron gained seventeen by playing hers.
John Windemer, Samantha Marshall and Caron De Val finished within a minute of each other, all putting in good performances on the day.
The previous evening, Jo Meek had excelled in the Dartmouth Regatta Road Race. Jo was first lady to finish the 5.1mile course in a personal best time of 32.26.
U20 Harrison Baker was first TAC to complete the 10.4miles of the Oke Croak Fell Race in a fast 1hr 28mins 30secs. Paul Waldron was next home, in 1.47.10, while David Rickwood was the final member of the TAC trio to finish this tough event, in just over two hours.
