NO?less than 47 Tavistock Athletic Club athletes of all ages took part in the second round of the Westward League Cross Country race on Sunday at Newquay.

The conditions could be described as good to soft underfoot, however the 40mph winds made race preparation and running difficult indeed.

The race was incorporating the Cornwall Cross-Country Champion-ships so there were a larger than normal number of participants for the races and competition was fierce. Tavistock athletes held their own and performed valiantly and took some big scalps.
