The run was organised by Peter Bazley of Tavistock Athletic Club, with friends involved in marshalling the course. Most of the competitors were from TAC, with the addition of Bonny Collingborn and Hans Thompson, both fast off-road athletes.
The course took runners on an undulating course through the woods and included nearly 700 feet of height gain. Route finding presented a problem in the murky conditions and four front runners went off-course to varying degrees.
Bonny Collingborn was first female to finish, despite covering considerably more than the 6.25miles of the planned route, and new club member Sue Rowe finished second lady.
Hans Thompson ran just more than 11 miles that evening and was presented with first male trophy. Andy Houghton finished second with Graham De Val not far behind him.
