FIVE members of Tavistock Athletic Club competed in the Drogo10.

The 9.6 mile race starts and finishes at Castle Drogo and took runners along a 9.6mile cross country route around the estate on steep tracks and trails. The day was cool and still, chilly at the start but an excellent temperature for running.

Under 20 Harrison Baker excelled, finishing 19th overall out of some 500 runners in an excellent time of 1hour 7minutes 8seconds. His father Mike was next home, followed by Peter Bazley with Paul Waldron gaining a five and a half minute personal best just behind him. Kate Rogers, the only club female in this race, finished fifth in her age category.

A couple of days earlier, round two of Armada Athletics Network winter 3k race series had taken place in Central Park, Plymouth.

First TAC home in a fast 12.15 was Tom Brew, with U17s Amy Bennallick also putting in a good performance to finish exactly one minute later. U11s Natasha Farrington had a hugely impressive run, finishing in 13.25.

U15s Emma Ryder and Jodie Stacy ran well to finish in 14.12 and 14.33 respectively with U17s Jennifer Sabine seconds behind, in 14.38.

Alistair Kinsey crossed the finish line just ahead of his daughter Holly, in 14.51, and Jamie Brew brought the club contingent home in 17.37.
