TAVISTOCK Athletic Club hosted the second of this summer's Devon Open Series track and field meetings earlier this month.

Tavistock College, the venue for the action, played host to more than 200 athletes from Devon and Cornwall with some travelling from as far as Shropshire for the event.  This is only the second time a series meeting has been held in Tavistock and the athletic club pulled out all the stops to lay on a great show. 

TAC fielded 59 athletes in the competition in all age categories from 8 years old and above.

One of the highlights of the day was the spectacle of male and female veteran relay teams.

 The club thank Tavistock College Sports Centre staff for their hard work in preparing the facility, the many volunteers from the club who worked tirelessly all day long and The Cattle Trough café who stepped in at the last minute to provide the catering.
