IN division one of the Okehampton and District Table Tennis League Anchorage B played Okehampton C.
Cameron Brooking put Okehampton C 1-0 ahead when he beat Roger Gilbert 17-15 in the third leg. David Wilson levelled at 1-1 after losing the first two legs against Sarah Jackson but won the next three 11-8, 11-7, 11-7.
Okehampton won the next games before Colin Brooker beat Jackson for a 4-2 lead to Oke, who won the next three singles. Brooking and Mari Baldwin won the doubles against Gilbert and Wilson as the match ended in an 8-2 win for Okehampton C.
Bridestowe played Anchorage A. Bridestowe won all nine singles and the doubles for a convincing 10-0 win with Mark Tancock, Mark Bennett and Mark Fogerty in top form.
In the last divison one match, Anchorage played Okehampton D. In a hard fought game, Luke Bennett and Mari Baldwin both scored maximums and Sarah Jackson won one single. David Wilson and Colin Brooker saved the whitewash, both beating Jackson. Bennett and Baldwin, who won the doubles against Gilbert and Wilson for a 8-2 win for Okehampton D.
In division two, Okehampton F played Gunnislake A. Okehampton F, though, could only field two players. Gunnislake raced into a 6-0 lead before Tom Madge pulled one back against Michael Alexander and his brother Connor beat Jack Flockton. Mike Kinger and Flockton won the doubles for a 8-2 win for Gunnislake.
Okehampton G played Moretonhampstead. Okehampton raced into 7-0 lead thanks to a fine maximum from Will Ash. Ken Underhill pulled one back for Mortetonhampstead against Thomas Chastey and James May followed up, beating Morgan Holt. Underhill and May won the doubles against Holt and Chastey for a 7-3 win for Okehampton.
Gunnislake B were at home against Horrabridge B, who raced into a 4-0 lead before Ptolemy Beman beat James Emony. Beman also won the last singles against Matthew Dowie to save his team from a whitewash. Miles Pinkton scored a fine maximum and joined Dowie to win the doubles against Beman and Ryan Taylor for a 8-2 win for Horrabridge.
In the final division two match, Okehampton G played club rivals Okehampton F, who went into a 4-0 lead. Frank Cockburn beat Will Ash, Tom Madge beat Morgan Holt and Connor Madge beat Thomas Chastey. Cockburn went on to complete his maximum whilst Ash pulled one back against Connor Madge and Chastey beat Tom Madge. Ash also won the last singles against Tom Madge. Cockburn and Tom won the doubles against Ash and Chastey for a 7-3 win for Okehampton F.
