YOUNG swimmers from Tavistock had a successful day at Parklands Leisure Centre, Okehampton last Sunday. Thirty youngsters, many competing for their very first time, took part in the Dartmoor Sprint Gala organised jointly by Tavistock Swimming Club and Okehampton Otters.

Swimmers gained some great personal best times, picking up medals and gaining some valuable racing experience at a small, friendly venue.  

James Lake, head coach of TSC, was on poolside throughout the day and said: ‘I am super proud of everybody, all swam brilliantly and learned a lot. I can’t wait to see what these swimmers can go on to achieve the rest of the season!’
