TAVISTOCK A are still reeling from shock at the score line in this game!
Tavistock lost to Plympton Grammer School Old Boys in a tight encounter at home and entered this game with the belief that it was to be another tough match — especially as they were missing a few players from the previous week’s epic match.
The game started at pace with PGOB’s putting pressure onto the visitors’ defence, but Pugsley dominated the goal and cleared a couple of early strikes. Thereafter the game changed. Orman scored the first of his seven for Tavistock following some slick passing between himself and Elliott.
The whole team functioned superbly as a unit. The defence of Gott, MacDougal, Honey and Venton had most attacks covered while the midfield of Willets, Donnelly and Campbell kept the control and Elliott, Orman and Walker worked tirelessly.
There were too many goals to describe with notable goals from Orman, Walker, Elliott and Donnelly.
The short corner routines worked well for the visitors and added a great variation to the performance.
This result puts Tavistock at the top of the league, with some hard matches to go.
