SPOONERS and West Dartmoor Pony Club members had a successful day competing at neighbouring Lamerton Pony Club’s winter triathlon in Launceston.

A team of under eights ran and swam with determination to come second in the biathlon. Individually Lamorna Cox came tenth, Lara Davey seventh, Rory Cox fifth and Fynn Baker fourth.

Spooners has an impressive squad of young triathletes, and showing great promise in the U10 mixed minimus class, Holly Cole scored a personal best in the swim and ran a fast race on a wet course to finish sixth individually.

Shooting for the first time on turning targets certainly suited minimus boy Theo Marshall, who shot a personal best and proved consistent in the swim to equal his personal best, earning him fifth place. In the same class Finlay Adams came eighth.

Minimus girl Beth Foster won best shoot in her class, ran and swam strongly and was rewarded with individual sixth place.

Senior boy Henry Ware came second in his class, winning the run and qualifying for the national championships.

A team of Henry, Theo, Beth and Erin was eighth in the team competition.
