THE championship round of the Kaminski Property Rentals 20/20 competition took place at the Ring at Tavistock Cricket Club on Sunday with an increasingly pleasant day, making the cricket all the more enjoyable.

Lydford played Okehampton Mark Park Larkers in the first semi-final with Lydford emerging victorious in a close game.

The second semi-final was a frenetic affair it had all the ingredients which makes this format so exciting and this match typified this. There were sixes, fours, wickets, catches, dropped catches, run outs — everything was going on right to the end. Sticklepath being successful by 10 runs over Lifton.

The final was played in beautiful sunshine with Lydford scoring a 106 and Sticklpath reaching the target in the last over. Paul Penberthy was man of the match for his 53 to help Sticklepath win the event for the first time. Organisers thanked all the helpers in staging the event.
