Exmouth seconds v Tavistock seconds

WINNING the toss, bottom of the table Tavistock bowled first and made an early breakthrough with James McGahey getting out J Page for 7.

Tavistock continued to contain the Exmouth bowling and were rewarded when Sam Hopkins had Cross caught off his bowling. This brought ex Dorset captain Rintoul to the crease, who upped the scoring rate with some sublime shots, including hitting Gliddon for 19 off one over. In the last 10 overs Tavistock took regular wickets, Including Greenway for a well made 87 and Rintoul for 73. Exmouth finished on 254-8 off their 50 overs.

Pick of the Tavistock bowling was Dave Milligan (3-39) and James McGahey (3-53)

Tavistock in reply did not have the best of starts when Hopkins was bowled with six runs on the board.

Josh Stephens and Chris Monger then batted maturely and put on a decent partnership, until Monger was dismissed for 16. Throughout the innings was Josh Stephens who was batting superbly, yet he had little support from the middle order as wickets regularly fell. Stephens finally fell after a superb innings of 80. Tavistock finished on 161 all out.

In the end Tavistock finished with 7 points, which was an excellent effort in the circumstances. There were also some superb individual performances to take away.
