THE Tavistock Sportshall was a hive of activity and great fun said the organ-isers, Okehampton Community Recre-ation Association.

Stuart Lord, OCRA manager, said: ’It was a fantastic atmosphere with all 144 children being very active and cheering for their school and  friends.’

Children took part in various activities including speed bounce, long jump, chest push and vertical jump.

Results: Large schools - 1, St Peter’s A, 347 points; 2, St Andrew’s A, 334; 3, Whitchurch, 292; 4, Horrabridge, 283; 5, Tavistock, 269; 6, St Peter’s B, 258; 7 St Andrew’s B and 8, Bere Alston, 239.

Small schools – 1, Milton Abbot, 239 points; 2, Meavy, 236; 3, Lady Modiford’s Walkhampton, 211; 4, Lamerton, 180.

There will now be the six highest scoring schools going forward to the West Devon final on Friday, January at Tavistock College – St Peter’s A, St Andrew’s A, Whitchurch, Horra-bridge, Tavistock and St Peter’s B.
