FORMER South African hockey star Justin King will be the special guest at a summer hockey coaching camp being held in Tavistock this August. Justin has 130 international caps and has scored 59 goals playing in major competitions, including the hockey world club and commonwealth games. The summer hockey camps will be held at Kelly College astro pitch and have been organised by Tavistock Hockey Club, in partnership with Kelly College and WASP Hockey. Tavistock Hockey Club chairman Phil Honey said: 'After the success of the spring hockey camp, when more than 120 children of varying ages enjoyed the sessions, we are taking these sessions to the next level. It is fantastic news and a credit to the coaching team that Tavistock Hockey Club can now attract coaches and international players of the calibre of Justin King. 'We should be proud of what has been achieved of late at the club and this is all part of a significant programme of development for Tavistock Hockey Club and an energetic and enthused team from both the club and Kelly College.' The camps take place over three days — August 5 is for children in years 2 to 6; August 6 is for youngsters in years 2 to 11 and August 7 if for students in years 6 to 11. The cost for a day's coaching with Justin King and the team of qualified coaches from Tavistock Hockey club is £20 per day. The hockey club will also be offering an early drop-off and late pick-up facility — drop-off from 8am (£10) and pick up as late as 6pm (£10), or both services at just £15. All players will receive a WASP-sponsored T-shirt.
