Devon seconds A
Tavistock seconds v
Plymstock seconds
TAVISTOCK second team hosted Plymstock on Saturday, needing a win to stay alive in the Devon A division. Disappointingly a rain affected game meant they lost by just one run.
Plymstock batted first and scored 200 on a good track. Tavistock bowlers kept the runs in check with Rob Milligan leading the way with 4-23.
While mean spells by Andy Gauler and Mark Hopkins ensured Plymstock did not get away.
Danny Dyer and Julian Brailey were the best batters with 60 and 52 respectively.
Tavistock started steadily and Josh Stephens held the innings together with 49. Contributions from all the others left Tavistock in a good position — six wkts in hand and 65 wanted when the rain arrived and the revised score meant that Tavistock had lost by one run — a great disappointment for the home side.
