THE Son Rise Cup did not disappoint all those who witnessed or took part in what has come the town's annual festival of 'football and fun for all the family.'
Played over May 23, 24 and 25 the event, which raises money for charity, draws awareness to Autism and promotes football for all, drew more than 4,000 people to cheer on the teams of all ages, sexes and abilities.
They thronged to its venues including the all weather pitches at Crowndale, Tavistock College and Langsford Park, home of Tavistock AFC.
Allen Lewis, the co-founder and one of many members of the Son-Rise committee who helped organise the festival along with innumerable volunteers, told the Times: 'We had a great time. Everybody had a smile on their faces. It was the best ever. How we can top that next year I do not know!'
