Devon Seconds B West

Tavistock seconds v

Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough

A WEAKENED Tavistock seconds took on Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough at The Ring on Saturday.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat Vickary and Ellard gave them a solid start but a couple of wickets seemed to put Tavistock on top. Both Hopkins and David Milligan bowled well for the home team but Adrian Berry borrowed from Luckett for the day batted carefully and sensibly accumulating a 100 at a steady pace. Tavistock's muddle bowling was poor and the result was a good total from the opposition of 234.

Tavistock's reply started badly at 3-2 which meant the task was monumental. John McGahey and Ben Russell tried to repair the damage but wickets kept falling and a weak performance saw the side slump to 152 all out.

Dan Ellard 3-38 and Steve Ford's 4-31 doing most of the damage.
