Tavistock seconds A v Exmouth seconds

TAVISTOCK entertained leaders Exmouth at the Ring last Saturday and it proved an entertaining game.

Tavistock won the toss and batted. mark Webber and Sam Willetts gave Tavistock a solid start, Danny Goldstone scored quickly, but it was veterans John McGahey and Mark Lovell back from Germany for his sole appearance that took the score along. McGahey reached a fine 47 while Lovell batted through for 79 not out in a good score of 234.

Exmouth cautiously chased the runs, good bowling by Hopkins. Goldstone and Willetts kept the score down, but by keeping wickets intact Exmouth were able to accelerate at the end, enabling them to win by four wickets — although Tavistock's fielding and bowling deserved more reward.
