Okehampton ladies seconds 1
Plym Valley ladies thirds 0
OKEHAMPTON faced stiff opposition from the experienced Plym Valley hockey team and they were soon forced to defend resolutely as Plym attacked.
Oke's keeper Shannon Osman made several crucial saves to prevent her team from conceding a goal.
In true Oke style, the team battled hard and soon their dedication and good team work paid off.
The Oke forwards moved the ball around well and attacked with speed and directness. The half-line of Liselotte Rademaker, Sophie Tripp and Nicky Stoneman backed them up soundly, providing them with some quality passes.
Oke's winning goal came from a strong Liselotte pass which found forward Rochelle Hillier, who placed a lovely ball in front of goal for Annette Goswell to tap over the line.
Plym Valley stepped up their game, determined to equalise and were awarded several penalty corners. The Oke defence kept their cool and tackled well clearing the ball away from the goal to allow their team to claim victory.
