Tavistock A 1
Dart A 3
THIS was a very gutsy performance from Tavistock, who fought to the very end to get something out of this game.
The home team were fielding a strong side and had hoped to get some points from this encounter.
Tavistock certainly started the stronger and attacked the visitors' goal constantly, with the attacking back Stanyer rampaging into the D and having his firm strike saved by the visiting keeper. This was a close encounter and Tavistock continued to press and came close again shortly after via Elliott.
It was an attacking short corner that broke out of the Dart D and swept down the pitch that was quickly slotted under the diving Pugsley.
Tavistock maintained their shape and attacking spirit but again went down to a break-away goal that was against the run of play.
Shortly after the break, Tavistock managed to score following some determined pressure and slotted a well worked short corner via Elliott.
Tavistock were hunting for the equaliser and looked likely to get the score and with great linking again via Hanson, Honey and Anning, were working the ball intelligently up the pitch. However, Tavistock were caught napping when Dart broke out again and scored the decisive winner to take the game.
