TAVISTOCK girls rugby teams trained on Saturday with Newquay in readiness for the upcoming season. The U18s squad include some players who won the Devonport Festival last year and three players selected for the county — Chloe Dawe, Lizzie Crocker and Kim Upcott. Alongside experienced players, the side has several players new to the game. The U15s team last season reached the semi-final of the South West Cup and Lizzie Cole, Eleanor Mills and Ellana Dawe are included in the Devon squad. A continuous flow of players is necessary, so an U13s squad gives the transition between 'tag' rugby and full contact rugby. Any girl interested, whether sporty or not, can get fitter and have great fun with the U13s team. So come and join a taster session on Thursdays at 6.30pm at the rugby club in Tavistock.
