THE Okehampton area Primary Sportshall Athletics event with nine local schools and 96 children competing was hosted and organised by OCRA.

The atmosphere was fantastic with all children being very active and involved in running, jumping and throwing events.

OCRA give a big thank you to the Okehampton College sixth formers and Armada Athletics Network who helped run the event

Keith Reed from the AAN, who works around Devon, recognised the high standard of the event.

In a tight competition South Tawton emerged the winner and  will go through as representing West Devon in the Devon Schools' final in March. Second overall was Hatherleigh and third Okehampton.

Results: Long jump boys, Sam Cawse (North Tawton), girls Eloise Tizard (North Tawton); speed bounce, James Judd (Okehampton) and Caitlin McCartney (Hatherleigh); chest push Daniel Tomkins, David Turney (Bridestowe), James Judd (Okehampton) and Amelia Nye (North Tawton), Harriet Hawkins (South Tawton); vertical jump, James Judd (Okehampton), Greg Haste (Hatherleigh) and Millie Draper (Hatherleigh).
