THE annual Mount House School inter-set athletics day saw six records equalled or broken the in girls' events — and many out-standing performances.

The four houses competed for the Set Athletics Cup. Victories in several of the first few events gave Kangs an early lead, but by half way the Hawks had pulled into a commanding lead. Performances from the team captains Alex D'Entrecasteaux and Jenny Guy consolidated the Hawks victory.

Charlotte Moore set a new school record of 7m 82cm in the intermediate girls' shot, and Olivia Lopes' time of 14.09 seconds equalled the existing school record for the intermediate girls'100 metres.

Sports day records were set by Samantha Unsworth-White in the senior 75 metres hurdles (12.22secs), Emma Manton in the senior long jump (4m 50cm) and Becky Manton in the intermediate girls' javelin (18m 30cm). Ottilie Whitbread cleared 1m 28cm to equal the intermediate girls' high jump record.
