THE English Schools Athletics Association national championships are the fourth largest athletics event in the world staged each year. Tavistock Athletic Club has two of its junior members selected for the championships to be held at the Alexander Stadium Birmingham this weekend. Sam Lane de Courtin, who attends Callington Community College, will race in the senior boys 2000 metre steeplechase representing Cornwall schools. Sian Temple will take on the 1500m race for junior girls. Sian, who attends Kelly College, will be representing Devon schools. Both of these athletes have trained hard for their events and are coached at TAC by Carrie Lawson.
