THE majority of grant funding available to the Lawn Tennis Association is derived from central government and allocated to British Tennis through the successful partnership with Sport England.

There is a commitment to Sport England that the number of people playing tennis once a week will increase by 115,000 by 2013.

Tavistock Tennis Club is also keen to encourage more people to play. Its resident coaches Linden Hardisty (on 079565 48249) and Josh Brown (079696 58493) or email [email protected]">[email protected] are keen to hear from adults and children who would like to play.

'Rusty racquets' adult beginner sessions take place on Saturdays at 1 pm. There is a one off charge of £5, redeemable if adults join the club. Juniors meet on Saturday mornings.
