OKEHAMPTON Running Club’s annual handicap race takes place over a two lap 5k course around Abbeyford Woods near Okehampton.

During the summer members have the chance to run a one mile club time trial; the time they set is used to calculate each individual’s starting time — therefore the slower the time trial time the earlier that runner starts the race. This gives every runner a unique chance to win the race.

Victory went to Charlie (Charlotte) Collyer who put in a fine run to win the trophy and a clutch of Waitrose vouchers. Jane Richardson came in second ahead of Andy Vallance in third.

Other runners were: Nick Seccombe, Chris Thorne, Stuart May, Andrew Thorne, Mike Westland, Will Lamerton, Mike Baker, Janet White, Christine Fritsch, Sarah Bell, Charlotte Radnor, Peter Bollom, Sarah Haigh, Alan Luffingham, Kerry Morashti and Deborah Cunningham.
