Okehampton U15s 17
Cullompton U15s 0
OKEHAMPTON welcomed Cullompton knowing they would have to play well to secure their third win in a row.
They did not disappoint, starting strongly and within minutes a clearance kick by Cullompton saw Greg Haste at fullback collect cleanly, running over half the length of the pitch to open the scoring for Okehampton.
Ten minutes later a pick up from the back of the scrum by Saul Holliday was fed to Joshua Burgoyne and out to Olly Northcott, who made a great job of finishing the move to score. Despite losing a player to the sin bin, Oke fought hard, with forwards and backs working all around the pitch, putting in some superb tackles to keep the visitors out.
The second half saw Cullompton throw everything at the home side, but all credit to the young Oke team, whose defence was second to none, pressurising the visitors into mistakes and not allowing them to put any points on the board.
After soaking up the pressure, Okehampton were deservedly rewarded at the end of the game, when, for the second week in a row, they got an impressive rolling maul going, which ended with Jack Rutley touching down for an emphatic win.
This was another fabulous team performance, with every player giving their all from start to finish and one in which they should all feel very proud of.
Oke conversion: Will Cunningham (1).
