Devon merit
Tavistock Colts 17
Plymstock Colts 12
ALTHOUGH it was Armistice Day on Saturday, there was plenty of fight on the pitch between these two teams on a cold, wet and windy November day.
The game was closely contested and Plymstock, who had the wind behind them in the first half, soon got the first try of the game after a well worked move.
Tavistock were dominating in the scrum with Oliver Munn Tyrrell, Joe Burbage and Jason Blake winning against the put-in from Plymstock but unfortunately for them their line-out was not working as well and they were losing possession of the ball.
The team fought back and Jasper Cameron scored a try for Tavistock in the corner, which was converted by Jack Easton.
The second half started with a second try for Tavistock after a strong scrum push by Robin Bickley and Reuben Noy Scott. Toby Teague picked up from number eight position and broke straight through to move the score to 12-5.
Plymstock then came right back into the game with a overlap on the wing, bringing the score to a close 12-10. It was in the dying minutes that a penalty to Tavistock saw a quick ball by Tom Pearson to Joe Burbage who stormed through for the team’s third try.
Special mention goes to the Noy Scott brothers (Reuben and Olly) for putting in a strong performance.
