THE annual Rotary 5 mile races took place in sunshine last week.

Councillor Ann Johnson, Mayor of Tavistock, started each of the three races and also presented medals to all finishers and trophies to first, second and third in the men's and ladies' races.

First lady home was Rachel Short in 37.41mins, second Julia Towers and third Maria Kushnirov. The men's race was won by Adam Holland in 28.06mins, second was Nathan Newton and third Andrew Vernon. The 1.75 mile fun run was won for the second time by George Bumford in 12.45, with Tilly McDowell second and Leighton Howe third.

 Rotary Club President Trevor Williams wishes to thank all those who supported and assisted with the race. £295 was raised for local charities.
