IT was a case of rain, rain go away — as many of the competitions have been cancelled or postponed at Tavistock Golf Club.
The men did manage to play their Poultry Medal with Rob Jarman scoring an excellent nett 67 to top division one. Second was Martin Channon with nett 69, third Rich Potts nett 71.
First in division two Ian Crichton had a nett 70 on countback from Maurice Craze, and in third place, Alan Pope nett 71.
There was tight scoring in division three with Tony Rawlinson first with nett 73 on countback from Andy Down who was on countback from Lee Bartlett who took third place.
The ladies played their Bottle Trot over 12 holes.
The winning team of Jan Walls, Val White and Dawn Dennis scored 56 pts.
In second place, on countback with 53 pts, were Maggie Hillman, Nicky Gawman and Tracey Sutcliffe with the team of Sharon Williams, Sybil Coles and Pat Taylor taking third place. Kate Butler, Gabriella Greening and Wendy Anglis took fourth place with 51 pts on countback from Gail Reed, Julie Harding and Gillian Parker.
The weather did not deter members from attending the annual presentation night.
Captain Richard Burrows and lady captain Sue Coles handed out trophies to all the successful players which included many of the juniors who, once again, had a very good year.
