Camborne School of Mines 9

Tavistock firsts 5

TAVISTOCK hockey team travelled to their first away league game with the points already in the bag following a ruling indiscretion by Camborne. This effectively made the game just a friendly and produced an open game.

The visitors were one up after two minutes when Adam Holland busted through the home team defence to score a reverse stick goal from an impossible angle. The home team who were back on terms shortly after as their exciting forward line scored the first of a number of quality goals.

Holland scored his second after intercepting a Camborne back pass to inflict maximum damage.

The half time score saw Tavistock 2-5 down.

Urged by skipper Edwards Tavistock resumed the second half on the attack and Holland sealed his hat trick with a great take, that found the top corner from a Tom Hanson cross.

Camborne asserted themselves leaving Tavistock to feed off breaks. Tavistock's poor marking allowed the home side to further extend their lead as they were let loose at goal.

Holland grabbed a fourth in a goal line scramble after neat play from Tom Honey. Holland made it five for Tavistock with another stinging reverse stick finish to end a thoroughly entertaining game that was big fun for both sides.

Tavistock move to third in the league and face North Devon at home this Saturday.
