THERE was much to admire at the third Tavistock College Sports Awards.

The event celebrates and recognises students' work, whether this is through achievement or effort in curriculum time, successes in examination courses, contribution to the college through sport or practical performance in the local community.

There were also awards for primary school PE performer, team of the year and a Community Sports Centre award.

The awards evening was presented by the Tavistock College PE faculty and their student PE leadership team and guest speaker on the night was former student Nathan Newton, who also handed out trophies to winning students.

The awards evening concluded with the unveiling of the prestigious Sports Awards winner from a shortlist of eight students — Sophie Horn; Tate Budge; Stephanie Hutchins; Ethan Lamerton; Cameron McGurk; Ben Edmunds; Darcey Hepworth and Luke Northmore.

The top three students were first Tate Budge; second Darcey Hepworth and third Stephanie Hutchins.
