Devon seconds E West Whitchurch seconds v Chelston seconds Whitchurch and Chelston dodged the showers but ultimately were unable to conjure a result. The Wanderers lost the toss and were invited to bat. Conditions were not ideal with the rain making runs hard to come by. Two wickets had fallen early before Wallace and Tamblin added 56 for the third wicket — the runs being shared around with a large portion of extras. Tamblin perished two balls after the first rain break as Griffiths returned for a devastating second spell. Griffiths eventually completed nine overs with 4-29. Wallace had made his highest score of the season, 28 when he was bowled by a 'snorter.' After the usual Whitchurch middle order collapse and a second rain break, Poole and Dunne added 46. Dunne was once again undefeated, whilst Poole made a valuable 31. With 49 extras, Whitchurch posted a challenging 173-7 off 41 overs. More rain fell during the tea break taking conditions to the brink. The Chelston reply was bolstered by a batch of wides but after a wicket apiece for Poole and Hall, the rain returned again and the game was concluded with Chelston on 44-1, with half the runs from extras.
