DARTMOOR Radio Sailing Club, which operates at Shaugh Lakes, near Cadover Bridge, organised and ran the second round of the South West Area Championship Races on April 12.
Entrants came from Dartmoor MYC, Woodspring MYC, Bideford MYC, Fleetwood MYC, West Cornwall MYC and Sedgemoor MYC. There were a total of 17 boats entered, all of them conforming to the international one metre class rules.
A total of ten races were held, having two heats each, over five hours on a bright, sunny day, with winds from the south west at up to 15mph, which called for the boats to use their number two rig.
There was some lively racing and the organisation of the day was superb.
Results: 1, Peter Cropper of West Cornwall MYC; 2, Barry Chisum, West Cornwall MYC; 3, John White, Bideford MYC.
The Dartmoor Radio Sailing Club commodore Dain O'Driscoll presented the winners with the prizes at the end of the competition.
