PLAYED in bright sunshine but with a cold wind,  Tavistock ladies were out in force for their annual poultry Stableford competition which was played over 15 holes.

In the silver division Lyn Swift had an excellent 32 points, second Dawn Phillott 29 pts and in third Bridget Luckham 27 pts.  First in bronze division two was Hazel Cash on 27pts, second Marion Stenhouse 26 pts on count back from June Kendall.  Jill Millichamp was first in bronze division three with 23pts, second Barbara Porter 25 pts and third Val Jarman 24pts; nearest the pin on the fourth was Pat Taylor and on seventh Donna Gage.

Donated by June Kendall, the Father Christmas figure is one of the most popular trophies of the year and the winner for 2014 was Lyn Swift.

The Medford pairs is an enjoyable format with a low handicapper playing a medal and her higher handicapper team mate playing Stableford whose points are deducted from the medal score. The result was a win for Elaine Cooper and Sue Pratley with a net 36; second Angela Trembeth and Val Jarman net 39 and third was Lyn Swift and Jenny Kay with a net 41.

In the men's postponed Saturday Bottle Trot scoring was tight in division one; first was Chris Gawman with 38pts on count back from Adam Bridgewater and Dean Dickerson.
