OKEHAMPTON A hosted Penzance A looking to get their first points of the season.

The home team looked up for the match right from the first whistle and a superb solo run from joint man of the match Stuart Jarvis from the push back put the pressure on.

It was not long before the confidence showed as a great interchange between Brett Lawson and Chris Luxton opened the scoring and soon added a second before half time.

Jake Lloyd combined well with the front two for Okehampton and was rewarded with his hard work after seeing his deflected shot loop over the keeper into the top corner.

The opposition caused little threat and when they did break the Okehampton defensive line, goalkeeper Ebby Valance kept them at bay. Central defender John Jarvis was strong at the back as always and his quick ball out  found the energetic Neil Rowlands, who also shared the man of the match award, and helped set Lawson up with his second. Soon after Luxton scored a fifth.

The opposition were constantly frustrated by Tim Morgan in the middle but were rewarded late on by converting a short corner but it was only a consolation as the home team went on to win 5-1.
