LAST Sunday, the Tavistock Wheelers were invited to have their cake and coffee stop at the home of Heather Fell and her parents to help raise money for her chosen charity.

Modern pentathlete Heather has been riding with the Wheelers quite often in the last month or so as part of her preparation to undertake a charity ride from John O'Groats to Lands End. The cakes were home made and delicious and donations were made by the riders to the charity fund.

Initially, there were 34 riders ready to pedal at 8am in Bedford Square and most of these made it to the cake stop. There were three groups of riders and many of them covered in excess of 50 miles.

The club thanks Heather and her parents for making them all very welcome and a little bit fatter!
