TAVISTOCK played their annual all day games against the Essex touring side who proved a strong outfit. Tiffin Tits batted first and Balasub and Angus started strongly, putting 82 for the first wicket. Charlie Barriball then bowled Balasub but Angus batted on and with Evans added another 82 for the second wicket. Angus made an excellent 96 and with Percival 45 not out the Tits reached an impressive 256-3 in their 45 overs. Young James White anchored the Tavistock innings with 41. There were small contributions from many players who helped the score along. However, it was down to captain Tokashani Peter to produce an explosive innings to keep Tavistock on target. He made a magnificent 135 not out and with Tom Cotter took Tavistock over the winning line with an over to spare. Nearly 520 runs in 45 overs on a lovely day was a reflection of a great wicket.
