TAVISTOCK junior triathlete Pete Jarman travelled to Dawlish for the first Aquathlon of the series organised by Exeter Triathlon Club.

Nearly 100 competitors took part in this popular and competitive annual event.

Pete, aged 15, competed in the sprint race.  This began with a 600m pool swim immediately followed by transition into running clothes and then a 5k run along the Dawlish seafront.

Pete had a great race, finishing  in seventh position.  He was first place in the male youth (15-16) and second place in the male junior (17-20) categories.

Pete completed the race in a time of 28 minutes 38 secs (8.20mins swim 20.18mins run).  This was a great result at he was one of the youngest competitors to take part in the event.

Pete, a pupil at Tavistock College, trains with Tavistock Swimming Club and Tavistock Athletic Club and competed on behalf of Plymouth Triathlon Club.
