TAVISTOCK junior triathlete Pete Jarman, 15, was in action recently, taking part in a challenging aquathlon held at Saltash.
The event was called 'She/He Who Dares Swims' because it involved a 700m cross river swim at high tide from the Union Inn, Saltash, across to the Royal Albert Bridge Inn on the Plymouth side of the river.
This was followed by a 5k run through St Budeaux, across the Tamar Bridge and back to the finish line outside the Union Inn, Saltash.
More than 60 competitors took part in the aquathlon on a wet and windy evening. Pete had a great swim across the Tamar and was the first swimmer out of the water at the Plymouth side.
Pete had a good run and was presented with the winners medal for the first junior to finish the event.
