LAST weekend saw further success for Tavistock Run Project athletes — Samantha Lake and Rachael Malthouse.

Sam was selected to represent Devon at the South West of England track championships in the 5,000m at Exeter arena. It was a typical British summer’s day, with pouring rain, however despite the weather, Sam ran the 12-lap race, smashing her personal best, in 18 minutes and 49 seconds to bag herself a championship silver medal.

Meanwhile nearby in Torquay, Rachael took part in the Torbay 10k, a scenic and fast course with a good turnout. She also smashed her 10k PB to achieve an excellent time of 41mins and 26secs and equally gained second place overall in the women’s category. Clearly all their hard work in training is paying off.
