Okehampton Running Club enjoyed a good day at the Bideford 10k on Sunday.
In glorious sunshine which made for hot conditions more than 500 runners set off running to Instow by road and then returning along the Tarka trail where a fresh breeze cooled them slightly.
A good turnout of ORC's had plenty to cheer about with Beki Simmons, Tracey Mills, Lynette Luxton and Sally Hodge completing their first ever races.
The Okehampton veterans did well too with Roger Voaden running a personal best to come first in MV45 and ninth overall in 36.19. Jane Jackson was the first lady member home also running a PB in 45.09 to win the FV55 category and coming seventh lady overall. Jane Jones who has knocked chunks off her PB's recently set another to take third in the FV45 in a time of 48.15. The male vet team prize was also won by Okehampton giving Roger another trophy for his collection along with team mates Andrew Vernon (38.50), Bryan Friend (39.44) and David Mugliston(41.09).
