THE eleventh Open Jujitsu Workshop, organised by Jujitsu Tavistock, took place in Tavistock and gave martial artists from the South West the opportunity to take part in a top class event. The workshop at Tavistock College was well attended with more than 60 martial artists, ranging from beginners to black belt fifth dan who came from Plymouth, Torquay, Liskeard and as far away as Swindown and Oxford. The guest instructor from Italy was Piero Rovigatti ninth dan in the art of Goju Ryu Jujitsu. The club instructor and organiser Umberto Bergonzini said: 'Another great event which everybody enjoyed. I think this was probably the largest martial arts gathering which has taken place in Tavistock. I would like to thank all the participants for making the day such a great success. 'My thanks also go to the college for making their facilities available and helping Tavistock in consolidating its position as a highly professional place to train in the martial arts.' Anyone is welcome to try jujitsu be it for fitness, confidence building or wanting to learn self-defence. The first month is free. Anyone interested in trying jujitsu can contact Umberto on 07866 720361 or come to one of the classes which take place in Tavistock, Launceston and Tamerton Foliot in Plymouth. Beginners are always welcome. More information is available from the website http://www.jujitsu.uk.com">www.jujitsu.uk.com
