Ollie Piper, a pupil in the fifth form at Mount House School in Tavistock, won the U13s national championship at the Independent Association of Prep Schools trampolining finals, held at Millfield School in Somerset.

More than 120 children competed at the championships in categories for boys and girls in U9, U11 and U13 age groups.

Ollie won the U13 championship with a superb performance that earned him 57.7 points, the highest score awarded to an individual in any category at this year's event. This is the third successive year that he has held this title.

Ollie's sister Evangeline, also a pupil at Mount House School, was 10th in the U9s competition while their five-year-old brother Oscar competed in the U9 boys' and finished as runner-up.

Evangeline and Oscar have both been invited to a summer training camp at Strode College by the South West talent development officer.

All three of the youngsters train with Alicia Cole at the Torpoint Twisters Trampolining Club.
