Tavistock A 5
Plympton Grammar School Old Boys B 1
THE winning Tavistock train keeps on going for the A team as their unbeaten league run continues. Tavistock knew that this game was going to be one of the hardest of the season, with PGSOB sitting in second place behind Tavistock.
The game started at pace, but it was all one way traffic towards the PGSOB’s goal. For the first ten minutes, Plympton were pinned into their own half and could not get hold of the ball. Tavistock finally took the deserved lead via a strong move and clever passing from Orman and Daniels.
The game continued in the same vein, with the home side dominating possession but Plympton countering on the break. This was comfortably controlled by the back four of Hanson, Stanyer, Honey and Donnelly.
The midfield controlled the game and Honey Junior and Chevin were dominant and threatened whenever they had the ball. Elliott worked well along with Daniels and Richards to maintain an attacking momentum.
Further goals followed from the lively Orman and a brilliant strike from Honey.
After half-time the visitors came back into it and scored a scrappy goal, which should have been cleared from the pads of Grahame, who as ever was strong in goal.
Tavistock returned to the control they needed, but struggled to find more than one more goal, which was a fine reverse stick strike from Orman.
