South East division one

Ottery Crickets A 1

Okehampton 5

OKEHAMPTON travelled to the bottom of the league to face a young Ottery side and straight from the start the visitors piled on the pressure.

They took about 15 minutes to make the break through - Mark Parsons scoring after a good pass from Josh Speak. More chances came there way but Luke Miller and Chris Luxton were unable to beat the keeper. Parsons then doubled Oke's advantage when he pushed in from close range after good work from Luxton.

The away side looked fairly comfortable. Parsons hit the crossbar and they were pushing forward but were punished when the visitors broke away and won a short corner which they converted at the third attempt.

The second half started in the same vein with the visitors going for more goals, Josh Balsdon went close before Chris Luxton got his goal. Luxton was then denied a second by a superb save from the opposition keepe.

The outstanding Andy Paterson then struck after some great control to beat two players before slamming the ball in.

The game was rounded off with another Paterson goal this time a simple task of putting the ball into an empty net.
