Okehampton A 3
OKEHAMPTON Hockey Club junior Jacob Jones made an accomplished debut for Oke A.
Playing on the right wing he soon threatened the away goal and was unlucky not to score.
Okehampton had total control of the first 20 minutes with the Plymouth Grammar School Old Boy's keeper making some great saves.
Stand in skipper Tim Morgan and Mark Bingham patrolled the midfield with Jack Watson and Stuart Jarvis playing out of there usual positions but having fine games.
The first goal was swept home by Ross Davidson after Chris Luxton had picked him out on the far post. Luxton then had a goal disallowed off but Okehampton continued to pressure the Plymouth goal and felt a little frustrated to only go in at half time one up.
Push back for the second half and the late October sun was pleasantly warming the Okehampton defence as they had barely been troubled.
Both Alex Osman and John Jarvis were able to pick off any attack and clear any danger from George Morgans goal. As the away side over come some second half nerves Luxton again found Davidson who drilled the ball home to take any fight out of the home side. 0-2.
The third and final goal came after a series of short corners found the very impressive Jake Lloyd who beat the PGSOB's defence with ease and with a reverse strike put the game beyond the Plymouth side.
