Okehampton A 10
Ottery and Sidmouth 0
OKEHAMPTON A were looking for their third win in as many hockey games.
Straight from the Ottery push back Okehampton pressed high and soon Stuart Jarvis had the ball in the back of the net after Luxton had picked out the player on the far post.
Not letting the away side settle soon Chris Luxton himself was on the score sheet with his first of the match.
Oke's midfield of John Hobbs, Martin Jones and stand in skipper Tim Morgan continued to recycle the ball out to the wings and the efficient Keith Webber showed composure on the left.
It was then the turn of Jake Lloyd to get in on this great attacking performance with his well taken first goal. The goals did not stop there as Oke dominated. Luxton scored his second and Oke's fourth with a shot into the far corner. Jack Watson added two — first played in by Tim Morgan and then by Luxton — and the home side went in comfortably 6-0 at half time.
A reduced tempo was to be expected in the second half and this gave defenders Alex Osman and John Jarvis time to play the ball around the back and pick out their forward players.
A move down the left found Luxton again in space and he slotted the ball home for this second and the first of his second half hat-trick.
Jake Lloyd again beat the Ottery defence and midfield and his sharp shot was deflected off of Luxton's stick, hit the post and went into the goal.
Man of the match Martin Jones then drilled a ball towards Luxton who with his run and a deft touch, flicked the ball past the now bamboozled keeper.
Ottery did threaten Morgan's goal once after the young forward danced past Osman but the players delight of beating the Okehampton defender was short lived after his final shot went well wide.
The tenth and final goal went to the impressive Jake Lloyd who slotted his third to end this emphatic 10-0 win to Oke A.
