IN division one of the Okehampton and district Snooker League, Tavistock were at home to North Wyke A.

Enrique Cancer Barrota and Jill Whiteley, members of North Wyke's division two team, played for the division one side in the clash. Tavistock marched to a 10-0 victory to increase their lead at the top of the table.

Okehampton A played Anchorage A. John Squire and Steve Madge performed well in the singles for Okehampton. Malcolm Hopkins scored two singles victories but had to pull out all the stops to beat John Squires 12-11 in the fifth leg. Anchorage took a 5-4 lead into the final doubles match, but John Squire and Steve Madge won the game against Malcolm and Colin Brooker to clinch a 5-5 draw.

In division two Okehampton C lost for the first time this season against Anchorage B, who they had beaten comfortably in the previous meeting this season. The Okehampton side had to put in a substitute player for the match, covering for Cameron Brooking.

Roger Gilbert scored a fine maximum, ably supported by David Wilson with two and Jonny Gilbert with one. David Wilson and Roger Gilbert also won the doubles against Josh Haskell and Emily Haskell to complete a fine 7-3 win.

North Wyke B played Horrabridge B. The opening game went the distance with Lesley Coleman winning against Don Harkness 11-5 in the fifth leg. Jill Whiteley won against Andrew Frazer and then she went on to win her next two for a fine maximum.

Going into the deciding game North Wyke led 5-4, and in the doubles they clinched a 6-4 win.

Okehampton B were at home to Moretonhampstead. Both teams only had two players, and Moretonhampstead secured a 8-2 win.
