DEVONPORT dominated the first half in terms of possession but good Tavistock defence limited them to one converted try, giving Services a halftime lead of 7-0.

Tavistock started the second half in fine style and went close to scoring several times in the opening 10 minutes of the half. However, they failed to turn the pressure into points and the visitors twice broke away to score two more tries against the run of play. Tavistock did then manage a good try of their own in the left hand corner. However, a series of missed tackles and lack of concentration allowed the visitors to add four more tries in the last 20 minutes, to make the final score somewhat flattering to Devonport Services.
